Growing for the Future
Souls School Space
Dear St Mary's Families,
St. Mary Parish and School is very excited about the progress with our Capital Campaign Project. If you have been a part of the campaign from the beginning, we thank you for your continued support. If you are new to our parish or school, we ask that you join in our efforts. The need is for a Fellowship Hall / Gymnasium to promote: Souls, School, and Space. As most of you are aware we were very close to starting construction last year before the Covid Pandemic and thought it was prudent to put this project on hold.
With refreshed focus, we believe that we can once again move forward to give the school a sports space of regulation size, as well as give the parishioners a place to gather for fellowship and assist us in our mission of bringing souls to Christ.
We are looking for just over $600,000 in pledges to break ground in June. The new pledges will show the commitment from parishioners and school families to the Diocese of Joliet who is willing to give St. Mary Parish a loan to get this project started. We know some families are already giving to an existing pledge, but we would like to start a new drive that will go from June 2021 through June 2024. This will give us a clean accounting to go forward with since many families are new and some families have been affected from the pandemic.
It is our request that every St. Mary Parish family make a financial commitment, payable over three years, to support this important project. I hope that you will prayerfully consider this opportunity, reflect on God’s blessings, and commit with vigor to this essential parish project. We acknowledge that some may be in difficult financial situations to give, but if you have the means to help us, we could use your help on this essential project that will benefit current and future generations in a multitude of ways.
Please use the pledge form to indicate your response and return it to the parish or school within the next two weeks. Giving is a spiritual adventure. It is an act performed for God and with God. As we put this into perspective, we will know the joy that comes from making the decision to give. The building improvements that we are making to our church honor those who went before us and represent a special gift to ourselves and to future generations of St. Mary Parish and school families. I ask that you take up the challenge of deepening your own experience of faith and further the mission of Christ carried out here at St. Mary Parish.
