This Spring, St. Mary will offer an Alpha Course. Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the basics of the Christian faith. Run over 10 weeks, each session looks at a different question that people can have about faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is a safe, non-judgmental, friendly, and welcoming space to explore life's big questions together. You do not need to have prior knowledge of any religion to attend, only a curious mind to learn more.
Join us for an awesome meal, an engaging talk and small group conversation.
All sessions start with a delicious (and free!) meal, because it’s a great way to connect, relax and build friendships.
The talks are designed to be engaging and inspire conversation. There are interactive sessions exploring the Christian faith. No pressure, no follow up, no charge. Usually around 30 minutes long, the talks explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions like “Who is Jesus?”, “Why and how do I pray?” and “How does God guide us?”
Probably the most important part of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas about the talk without being corrected or judged. There’s no obligation to say anything; it’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective. Debate and explore. Be honest, be friendly, listen well.
Discussion on topics:
Who is Jesus?
Why did He die?
How can I have Faith?
Why and how should I pray?
Why and how can I read the Bible?
How does God guide us?
How can I resist evil?
Why and how do we tells others?
Does God heal today?
What about the Church?
There is a retreat. It is a day away were we focus on the person of the Holy Spirit and we pray for the coming of the Holy Spirit.
